Jade Bird reflects on tough times in new song “Avalanche”

Date:

Jade Bird is an English singer-songwriter. She is known for her unique sound, blending genres of folk, rock, pop, country, and Americana. Her new song “Avalanche” focuses on feeling trapped.

“Avalanche” is about facing overwhelming circumstances. Through vivid lyrics and soft vocals, Jade Bird shares a moment of struggle where she feels she can no longer push through without the help of others. The lyrics of the song compare tense feelings of dread and stress to feeling weighed down under the ice and snow of an avalanche. Bird says the song was “written in the darkest spot of my twenties.”

“Avalanche” is the most recent single to be released ahead of Jade Bird’s upcoming album Who Wants To Talk About Love?, due out July 18th. The album is available for pre-save/pre-order here. You can also catch Jade playing an intimate, acoustic set in London on June 5th.
