Country artist Shaboozey is following up on his eventual 2024 with a new single and deluxe version of his chart-topping album, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going. The new release, Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going: The Complete Edition, is set for release on the 25th of April, but Shaboozey has already started the new music with the single “Blink Twice” featuring Myles Smith.
The pop-infused country sound is an optimistic look to the future as Shaboozey states that “time flies so don’t blink twice.” The artist’s deep vocals against the timbre of the western guitar create a classic country sound with some gang vocals and foot stomping percussion, only adding to the tone. The single is a nice start to Shaboozey’s new music with a nostalgic look into the past while also looking forward to the future.
“Blink Twice” is one of six new tracks featured on the deluxe album, with more features set from Paul Cauthen, Noah Cyrus, Jelly Roll and Sierra Ferrell. The original album made headlines last year when the single “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” made No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay Charts, making Shaboozey the second ever Black artist to do so.
“Blink Twice” is a first look into a fresh sound for Shaboozey, with Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going: The Complete Edition, set for release on the 25th of April.
