Ghost has released “Lachryma” (Latin for “tear”) as the second single from their upcoming album, Skeletá, which is out on April 25th. The song was teased with a 70s-style horror movie trailer where the narrator warned, “In the middle of the night it feeds…you can never run, and you cannot hide.” Following after the first single from the album, “Satanized,” “Lachryma” feeds into the band’s classic balance of dark lyrics and exciting melodies.

The song starts with a synth intro that blends deliciously into vampiric imagery and heavy riffs. The chorus sings like a true rock anthem with the lyrics, “I’m done crying over someone like you / I’m done crying, over someone like you, now / I’m done.”

“It opens with more of a riffage,” said frontman Tobias Forge in an interview with Metal Hammer. “And I guess now comes off as somewhat of a ‘typical’ Ghost mash-up, where it’s heavy on one end and met with a big, bombastic chorus. That’s a song about deceit.”

The Skeletour World Tour kicks off on Tuesday, April 15th, at the AO Arena in Manchester, UK. Tickets are available here. Listen to “Lachryma” here and prepare for their next Satanic psalm by pre-saving Skeletá.
