Icelandic band KALEO has announced their upcoming album, which is their “most ambitious album yet” — MIXED EMOTIONS — an exciting blend of blues-rock. The album is due out May 9.

Bandleader JJ Julius Son wanted to create an album that reflected how he sees these trying times, and even while he maintained a rigorous schedule, he remained focused on his craft and wrote new KALEO material.
“The songs are kind of a mixture between daydreaming and some social matters you can’t help but see,” he said. “Sometimes you have a bigger need to dive deep, or to speak frankly, about some issues.”
A truly global phenomenon, the band has emerged in both English and Icelandic languages, touring nonstop for three years in support of their platinum-selling debut album, A/B. They have also continued to tour all over the world and in new locations.
The band again collaborated with GRAMMY-winning producer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Sierra Ferrell) to create MIXED EMOTIONS. JJ was able to go further than with previous projects, calling it an “amazing partnership.”
