SoCal pop-rockers Sitting on Saturn write their “Ticket to New York”

Date:

After completing a recent rebrand, Sitting on Saturn (formerly Sitting on Stacey) are returning with new music fresh off of their 2024 album Looking Past Red Flags. Having caught the attention of the Jonas Brothers in 2021, providing support for their arena tour, Sitting on Saturn has since been gaining traction as a new pop-rock boyband.

Looking like the Jonas Brothers if they were stoned out long-haired surfers, Sitting on Saturn provide an energy-filled sound fueled by a melodic bass and classic guitar riffs. “Ticket to New York” even has a vibed out guitar solo to go along with the strained but cleaned up vocals. Lead singer and guitarist Hoyt Yeatman adds about the track,

This song is about that bittersweet moment when you know it’s over, but a part of you still holds on. It’s about love, loss, and watching someone move on right in front of you.”

Essentially taking the pop lost love archetype and fitting it around their lively 3-piece sound, the track started as an a capella voice memo and grew into the self-recorded single that we hear today. Written and produced in collaboration with friends Diego Rodrigues and Sean Levine, bits and pieces of the crew’s past relationships populate the anthemic “Ticket to New York.”
