Amanda Cy wants to let go in new song “Weightless”

Date:

Amanda Cy is no stranger to success. Accomplishments such as landing airplay on popular radio stations, having her work featured in prominent magazines such as Vogue Scandinavia, and working with music industry icons have fueled her passion and drive to create music. Her new song “Weightless,” the last single off her newest EP LOVEGRUNGE, released yesterday, focuses on letting go.

“Weightless” is about wanting to free yourself from stress and anxiety. Through steady percussion and smooth vocals, Amanda Cy shares about the struggles holding her down. The chorus sings “Could be flying if I let myself make it / Bottle up the right feelings and taste ’em / If I didn’t dig my teeth into pavement / I could be weightless,” showing her desire to stop overthinking and live her life the way she wants to. About the song, she said,

“It has become the most important track on the EP for me, as it’s about recognising how I often stand in my own way and imagining how freeing life could be if I just let go.”
