Sleep Theory continues to tease their upcoming album with the release of “III,” which was unveiled today alongside a gripping music video.”III” serves as the fourth single from their eagerly awaited debut album, Afterglow, set for release on May 16, 2025, via Epitaph Records. The album promises a diverse array of rock sounds, as evidenced by previously released singles “Stuck in My Head,” “Paralyzed,” and “Static.”
With the release of “III” (and previously released “Static”), lead guitarist Daniel Pruitt has been given more of a chance to showcase his screaming abilities, adding a raw, aggressive edge to the band’s evolving sound, while still maintaining the soulful R&B rock edge of where they began.
The accompanying music video further heightens the track’s tension, visually capturing the turmoil and intensity that Sleep Theory is channeling into their debut album. In the video, the band performs on the outskirts of a looming tornado, with the storm intensifying as the song progresses. As the tornado draws closer, the chaos builds until the screen ultimately fades to black. Echoing the superstition that bad luck often comes in threes and showcasing the band’s signature blend of alternative metal, hard rock, and nu-metal influences, “III” delivers a new, yet familiar sound for the band.
In support of the album, Sleep Theory is embarking on their first-ever headlining tour, The Afterglow Tour. The tour, which kicks off directly following the bands performance at Welcome to Rockville, will start off on May 20 in Birmingham, Alabama, and will traverse major cities such as Corpus Christi, Denver, Chicago, Syracuse, and Nashville, culminating in a hometown performance at Memphis’ iconic Minglewood Hall on June 28. The band will be joined by supporting acts Nevertel, Oxymorrons, and Stray View.
