Welsh four-piece group Public Order release their final single “SOMEDAY” off of Hello, their latest EP. Noted in an Instagram caption as “the final part of the story”, the song is hopeful and is accompanied by beautiful, scenic greenery in the lyric video.
“SOMEDAY” is all about hope,” the band says. The song begins with an electric guitar and vocals, with a blip of a guitar riff. As the song progresses, more and more instruments layer. By the second verse, the second guitar comes in, as well as percussion. “Where there’s love, there’s pain / And where there’s love, I will refrain” — despite these truths in the lyrics, the sentiment is that “someday,” love can be found if only you find yourself first.
Sonically, the song is reminiscent of old Keane or Snow Patrol, seeming to have taken inspiration from the late 90s and early 2000s. The band continues about “SOMEDAY,” sharing that “it’s a journey through longing and self-destruction, holding onto the belief that something better is waiting at the end. It asks the question—are you breaking, or becoming something more?”
To celebrate the release of the single and EP, Public Order is set to hit the road. The band will be performing at Independent Venue Week as well as Dot To Dot festival. You can find a complete list of their upcoming shows below.
