The Ries Brothers—an alternative rock brother duo from Florida composed of lead vocalist, drummer and keyboardist Charlie (28) and guitarist, vocalist and co-writer Kevin (25)—boldly inform listeners that this is only the beginning and bigger things are yet to come in their new single, “Coming Out Swinging.”

The project of The Ries Brothers started when Charlie and Kevin were just teenagers—when they landed the monumental role of opening for the band CHICAGO, a life-changing step up from their gigs at Florida bars that ultimately led them to pursue music full time. Now, several years later, the duo has opened for several artists such as Big Something and David Shaw of The Revivalists, and played a variety of iconic festivals like Innings Fest and Shaky Knees.

In “Coming Out Swinging,” the duo channels their confidence that has grown since they were teenagers, showing the world who The Ries Brothers really are by being unapologetically themselves. The song’s high-energy catchiness and electricity is shaped by the strong blues-influenced guitar riffs and rock-inspired passionate vocals. The chorus, “If you’re ready or not / We’re coming out swinging,” urges listeners to stay on their toes in anticipation of what they’re going to bring to the music world next.

Accompanying the track, The Ries Brothers released a lyric video that features glitchy, warm-toned visuals that capture the band’s upbeat, confident performance style. From showing moments of their live performances to clips of vibrant sunsets and other scenery, the video dynamically channels the energy and connectedness of the song.

Unafraid of boundaries, The Ries Brothers have ventured outside of the alternative rock genre—exploring the dancey blues rock sound with their 2023 singles “Your Friday Night” and “Strange Times” and even remixing “Take It Back,” a song featured on their sophomore album, with a reggae twist. With every performance, their colorful discography has the space to shine and captivate audiences of all kinds.
