“Some Nights” by Brock Geiger embraces a groove-heavy, club-like vibe

Date:

Brock Geiger’s Some Nights is here, and the title track is easily one of the most exciting moments on the record. A dance-driven, high-energy track, “Some Nights” takes a different turn from Geiger’s usual work, embracing a groove-heavy, almost club-like vibe. “I really liked how we dressed it up as a relentless dancy song because I’ve never got to explore that world in other projects where it’s just like forcing a groove at people that feels energized,” Geiger share in an interview with Melodic Magazine

Even though the song comes from a heavy place emotionally, the production flips it into something fun and unexpected. “Some Nights” was recorded at the legendary Sound City Studios with longtime collaborator and Grammy-winning producer Will MacLellan, and it fully embraces Geiger’s experimental side. “I started thinking about it as each song being different characters,” he explained. “Like, yes, I have the very introspective After Later’ soft, understated side, but then I also want to have fun and put on the sleazy club dance track that ‘Some Nights’ is.”

To go along with the track’s wild energy, Geiger also dropped a playful, full-length music video that leans into the song’s wacky, over-the-top vibe. Whether you’re diving into the full album or just checking out the title track, “Some Nights” is the perfect intro to this new era of Brock Geiger—one where he’s embracing creative freedom and just having a good time with it.
