Matty Reynolds Doesn’t Let Distance Get Him Down on “Timbuktu”

Date:

Matty Reynolds is a New York based artist and burgeoning voice in the folk-pop community. His latest release, “Timbuktu”, is about traveling to the ends of the Earth to be with the one he loves. It’s a heartwarming tale about a long distance relationship that conquers all. Leaning into the excitement that hits in the face of a long-awaited reunion, Reynolds captures the butterflies of a fated connection.

“Timbuktu” comes alive with free-wheeling riffs, twang-tinged vocals, and utterly infectious melodies. Reynolds sings, “From New York to Timbuktu / All roads lead right back to you / Wherever my feet are, I’ll never be too far.” The single perfectly embodies the intensity of finally coming home to the person you’ve been dreaming of over time spent away. Uplifting, romantic, and sung straight from the heart, “Timbuktu” is a modern day love song.

Revealing more on his track, Reynolds confides, “The reason it means so much to me is because it was written so quickly in the heat of my emotions, without any overthought. I was driving to see my long distance girlfriend and the verses naturally came to me, exactly as you hear them today, perfectly describing what it feels like to be so far apart yet always knowing I’ll make that drive a million times over to make it back to her.

“Timbuktu” is the first single from Matty Reynolds’ highly anticipated upcoming EP Somebody Like Me. Set for release this summer, “Timbuktu” sets the pace for what promises to be an unforgettable project.
