Emily Haber Honors Her Inner-Child on “Nostalgia”

Date:

Emily Haber is a singer-songwriter who grew up surrounded by music. She’s been performing since she was seven and lends her background as a childhood musician to the lyrics she writes today. Her latest release, “Nostalgia“, reflects on Haber’s unique experience growing up as a touring artist who in many ways, still yearns for the “normal” childhood that she missed out on.

“Nostalgia” draws together saccharine chords of guitar, visceral melodies, and breathless vocals that evoke a sense of longing for something she never had at all. She sings, “We’ll play kick the can / Take flights to Neverland / Run home and tell your mom / That you’ll be back by ten.” The lyrics behind the single are strikingly vivid and paint a picture that looks familiar to most people, but not to Haber. “Nostalgia” is a soul-stirring ode to Haber’s younger self and her colorful imagination.

Revealing more on her track, Haber confides, “The single, “Nostalgia,” is my tribute to the childhood I longed for but never truly had, blending wistful dreams with the heartbreak of growing up.

Emily Haber was born with severe hearing loss and plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from “Nostalgia” to The Starkey Hearing Foundation. Through her music and advocacy, she hopes to help others feel seen and understood.
