Janelle Monáe joins SoundExchange Hall of Fame, celebrating her legacy in music and beyond

Visionary singer, songwriter, actress and activist, Janelle Monáe has been inducted into the SoundExchange Hall of Fame, recognizing her as one of the most streamed artists in the platform’s history. With a career defined by innovation, Monáe has consistently pushed creative boundaries, blending music, fashion, and storytelling into immersive experiences.

Expressing her gratitude, Monáe highlighted the importance of crafting music that resonates deeply with her community and fans. “I appreciate SoundExchange so much – this is such an honor. I work really hard on creating album experiences and music that really means something to, not just myself, but the community that I make it for,” Monáe said. “Thank you to all the fans who have made this possible and here’s to many more experiences together! And thank you to SoundExchange for recognizing me this way.”

A SoundExchange member since 2010, Monáe’s influence extends far beyond music. She has delivered powerful performances in critically acclaimed films like Moonlight, Hidden Figures, and Glass Onion, and she remains a fierce advocate for social justice and LGBTQIA+ rights.

Fresh off her 2023 album The Age of Pleasure, Monáe continues to expand her creative universe with the recent release of The ArchAndroid graphic novel, further exploring the sci-fi mythology introduced in her early work.

On the novel, Monáe shares, “THE ARCHANDROID GRAPHIC NOVEL: CHAPTER 1 has arrived.
