Grace Morrison is a singer-songwriter who lends her identity as a New England based artist to the mesmerizing music she writes. Her latest release, “Beer in a Teacup”, is a part of her highly-anticipated upcoming album Saltwater Country. The project is a love letter to her roots in Cape Cod and her charmingly eccentric family.
“Beer in a Teacup” hits like a sunny day with saccharine riffs, rolling percussion, and vocals that ooze charisma. She sings, “Just pour my beer in a teacup and let it go.” Written about Morrison’s grandmother who used to drink beer from a teacup, the single is meant to memorialize her character and serve as a constant reminder to not worry what others think of you.
“Beer in a Teacup” was produced by Jon Evans who has previously worked with Tori Amos and Sarah McLachlan. Morrison and Evans aim to strike a balance between pop and country on the upcoming album. “Beer in a Teacup” gives us just a taste of the exciting project on the horizon for Morrison.
