Recent News: Released their new single, “Crystalline,” from their upcoming EP on February 21.

In the wake of a new artistic era, Denver-based post-punk group MOONPOOL released their new single, “Crystalline,” on February 21. The single is the first to come ahead of the band’s upcoming EP Nothing Sacred, out March 7. Nothing Sacred will be the first musical project from MOONPOOL — formerly known as The Sickly Hecks — since changing their band name.

An enthralling introductory number for their upcoming album, “Crystalline” is a grungey and shoegaze-inspired anthem. Through its blend of fuzzy guitars and melancholy vocals, “Crystalline” is both haunting and uplifting as it represents a new sonic era for MOONPOOL.

MOONPOOL’s new single comes ahead of their upcoming five-track EP Nothing Sacred. A captivating body of work, Nothing Sacred infuses a vast array of compositions and musical influences — everything from shoegaze to heavy synths to hard-hitting punk. Hoping to firmly establish their place within the modern shoegaze renaissance, MOONPOOL’s upcoming record is heavily inspired by ’90s grunge and signature fuzzed out guitars.

Formerly known as The Sickly Hecks, the band began their musical journey in the local DIY music scene of Denver, Colorado. Quickly rising to fame in the city’s vibrant house show community, The Sickly Hecks earned praise from Denver-based press and radio outlets before eventually appearing on Spotify’s “All New Rock” playlist. However, in the midst of this success, the group knew they had to reemerge with a new genre and new approach to their artistry. Thus, MOONPOOL was born.

Before releasing their debut project under their new moniker, MOONPOOL plan to embark on a tour through the Pacific Northwest. Composed of Raymond Suny (vocals, guitar), Steven Hartman (drums) and Izaiah Miller (guitars), MOONPOOL are boldly and adamantly embracing their rebirth. Stopping at nothing to convey their artistic growth and maturity, Nothing Sacred will no doubt prove to be an exciting and thrilling highlight within the band’s discography.
