Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:
——
Tate McRae and the Kid LAROI, “I know love” – “I know love” is about being in and experiencing a supportive relationship. Through strong vocals and punchy percussion, Tate McRae and The Kid LAROI share their appreciation for each other. “I know love” is a testament to the current state of their partnership where both artists are there for each other both in and out of the studio.
– Emma Celenza
——
Tucker Wetmore, “3,2,1” – Written by Josh Miller, Summer Overstreet and Jordan Reynolds, the song tells a story of Wetmore coming out of a breakup, filled with deep regret. He reflects on a past relationship filled that was marked by both love and mistakes. With vivid imagery, such as “sunset taillights” and “mascara on your shirt,” Wetmore ultimately realizes the relationship is over, becoming a painful reminder that not all things are meant to last.
– Clare Gehlich
——
moonpool, “Crystalline” – Formed from the post-punk band The Sticky Heads, Denver’s moonpool has cemented themselves as a part of the growing grunge and shoegaze revival with their first release, “Crystalline.” Taking notes from the iconic 90s genre, the fuzzy guitars, cymbals and indistinguishable lyrics transport listeners to a brooding place of loneliness and desperation for love.
– Ezra Kendrick
——
daste., “Wayside” – Ignorance is bliss—a concept the Australian indie pop trio, daste., composed of Callum, Braxton and Tyler, embodies in their R&B/soul-influenced track “Wayside” off their new album dasteWORLD, released Feb. 19, 2025. Callum MacDonalad, a member of daste., mentions in regard to the track that in order to keep moving forward and avoid old patterns, you must learn to tune out the noise and negativity for self-preservation.
– Audrey Van Schagen
