Recent News: Released her new single “I Can’t” on February 13. The single’s music video arrives February 20.

Ethereal contemporary icon Empara Mi has released a captivating addition to her enthralling discography. On February 13, the singer-songwriter released her new single “I Can’t,” which serves as the empowering first chapter of her new musical story. This Friday, Empara Mi will release the coinciding music video for “I Can’t.”

Her first piece of music to be released this year, “I Can’t” explores both love and loss through its melancholy and haunting composition. The debut single from her upcoming album Monsters & Masochists, Empara Mi says “I Can’t” sets the stage for her most vulnerable musical era to come.

“I didn’t realize I was foreshadowing my own fate when I first wrote this song,” she says. “The mere thought of losing the thing I loved the most was enough inspiration for me to write that day, just for it to actualize right after, in a very cruel ‘life imitates art’ kind of way. I wanted this song to be the first chapter in a much bigger story, as it very much opened the door for me to go to hell and back and everywhere in between when writing the album.”

Renowned for her captivating artistry and sensational musical talent, Empara Mi’s upcoming album Monsters & Masochists is meant to portray a theatrical story, one where she fuses heavy, indie-inspired compositions with a cinematic atmosphere.

Since releasing her debut album Suitcase Full of Sins in 2020, Empara Mi made a name for herself due to her innovative sound. Since her inaugural full-length release, Empara Mi has featured her music in several hit projects, including “Transformers,” “Fortnite” and “Dynasty.” Additionally, her viral hits “Blood in the Water” and “Ditch,” both off her debut album, have been featured in Netflix’s “Ginny & Georgia” and “Behind Her Eyes.” Most recently, her rendition of the folk classic “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” was featured in the TV show “The Day of the Jackal,” earning her even more praise and success.

Taking inspiration from movie scores, opera-influenced compositions and even hip-hop, Empara Mi has cemented herself as an artist who is as talented as she is revolutionary. Through her genre-bending artistry and heartfelt vocal prowess, Empara Mi is undoubtedly an artist for all music listeners to keep on their radar this year.
