LISA celebrates upcoming debut album with ‘Alter Ego: The Official Comic’

Date:

She sings. She raps. She dances. She owns her own management company. She holds the record for the longest-charting song by a solo female K-pop artist on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and in the U.K. She is the first solo K-pop winner at both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV European Music Awards. Fans see her as a style icon. And now, as if LISA isn’t enough of a boss, she is a published author – well, almost!

With LISA’s highly anticipated debut album, Alter Ego, comes the announcement of Alter Ego: The Official Comic. The comic is a companion to Alter Ego, which will be released February 28. Throughout the album, LISA embodies five different characters or “alter-egos.” Fans have already had a taste of these characters through singles like “Rockstar,” “New Woman,” and “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” which have 1.2B global streams between them.

Alter Ego: The Official Comic brings the album to life in a more visual form. It is an immersive, 56-page world that features the characters from Alter Ego, written by LISA and illustrated by the acclaimed Japanese artist MinoMiyabi. It is the first book released through LaLisa Comics, in partnership with Zero Zero Entertainment. Zero Zero Entertainment has worked in the past with artists like Machine Gun Kelly, Boy With Uke, Gorillaz, and Elvis, bringing the narratives of such creatives to life through unique and expansive storytelling.

A description of the comic can be found on the LaLisa Comics website:

“Step into a neon-drenched cyberpunk city where Vixi—a quiet tech genius—prefers fixing arcade machines to seeking the spotlight. Despite her reserved nature, she becomes the unexpected bond that unites four remarkable friends: Roxi, a pressured social star yearning for genuine connection; Kiki, an unstoppable arcade champion with an unyielding spirit; Sunni, a gentle peacekeeper concealing her inner storms; and Speedi, a fearless risk-taker learning to slow down.

When three ruthless bullies trap Vixi in a virtual reality nightmare, her friends dive headfirst into the digital battleground, proving that while Vixi may work alone, she never has to fight alone.”

Alter Ego: The Official Comic will ship on March 24, 2025. Each copy will come with two exclusive art prints – one of Vixi and one of either Roxi, Sunni, Speedi, or Kiki. You can pre-order the comic here.
