Lauren Mayberry puts on an iconic show in Boston

Date:

On a cold February night in Boston, Lauren Mayberry came to town as part of her Vicious Creature tour.  The overall vibes of the night were electric, as Mayberry, frontwoman of CHVRCHES, took to the stage for her highly anticipated performances of songs from her critically acclaimed solo project Vicious Creature. Stepping away from her familiar synth-pop roots, the Scottish singer-songwriter’s debut as a solo artist has left fans mesmerized, and excited for future projects she may have in store.

The crowd, eager to hear the new material, responded to each song with excitement, singing along with the lyrics and dancing away. Lauren’s songwriting ability shined bright as she performed fan favorite tracks like “Crocodile Tears”, “Change Shapes”, and “Sunday Best”. Her debut album touches on themes of love, heartbreak, and personal liberation. The setlist for the night was jam packed with all the songs from her debut project as well as a unique cover of The Verve’s Bitter Sweet Symphony, to the crowds surprise.

There were many standout moments from this night, but what stood out the most was Mayberry’s undeniable stage presence. Lauren is known for her witty banter and spinning around on the stage, and there was plenty of that in Boston. Between songs she would talk about the meaning of certain songs and banter back and forth with the crowd. At one point she fully thought it was a Monday when it was in fact a Tuesday, which got a laugh out of the crowd. It’s something about her witty banter that makes her so loveable.

Lauren Mayberry is a testament that you can fully slay in both a band and your own solo work. Lauren is truly a star songwriter and performer in both her projects and its fascinating to watch. This night in Boston was truly a night to remember and one that fans and Lauren won’t soon forget. We can’t wait to see what is next in store for Lauren!
