Nashville-based indie-pop band nightly (Jonathan Capeci, Joey Beretta and Nicholas Sainato) has announced their highly anticipated album, songs to drive to, scheduled for release on March 7, 2025. Alongside this announcement, the group will also release their new high-tempo single, “MESS,” out tonight (Friday, Feb. 14).
The album, which includes 11 tracks, will explore themes of freedom, self-discovery and the emotional rollercoaster we call life.
“songs to drive to has always been the way we’ve described our band,” Capeci said in a press release. He added that, “most of these songs came together in the past few months so the album feels exactly where we [nightly] are right now. Our tour starts April 4 and we can’t wait to play these songs live.”
The Live On Tour 2025, which will begin in Tampa, Florida, includes support from Will Linley, Mico, Jonah Marais, Brooke Alexx, Johnny Valentine and Struan.
Exploring a new sound and exciting production, songs to drive to was inspired by the open road. It will feature songs that will make you want to roll your windows down and cry like nothing else matters, earning a reputation bound for adventure, self-reflection and uncertainty. This news comes almost two years since the band released their second studio album, wear your heart out (2023), which debuted at No. 6 on the iTunes Alternative Charts. nightly also recently collaborated with Lindsey Ell on the track, “i shouldn’t call you.”

when did the definition of the indie pop genre change? this sounds as mainstream and polished as it gets to me. if you told me this was The Weeknd, I would say okay. not bad, just not indie pop. indie pop is the antithesis of mainstream pop. not the same thing as mainstream pop, but just created by an unsigned artist.
