070 Shake at The Fillmore by Shauna Hilferty

070 Shake came to Philadelphia’s The Fillmore on a cold Tuesday, with support from Houston-born and one of VEVO’s DSCVR Artists To Watch of 2025, Bryant Barnes.

Though the temperature was low, energy was high – and fans were not only excited for the performance but reeling still from the city’s recent Eagles victory. Upon her arrival, thanked her audience, saying graciously “I know you guys could’ve done a lot of different things with your day. But you decided to spend it with me. And I get to spend it with you.”

Appropriately beginning her set with “Intro,” 070 Shake performed behind a towering white, satin backdrop, the stage lights behind, creating a larger-than-life shadow. On her left and right were her band, the trio just barely visible. Transitioning to “Sin” and “Elephant” from her latest project, Petrichor, were seamless. Dani came out from behind the backdrop with the corded microphone, floating from one side of the stage to the other. During “Elephant” and “Black Dress”, she resided to her synth board, creating the sounds fans learned from the studio.

Stopping in the middle, she expressed more gratitude, specifically for thee reception of her latest album which allowed herself to be more open than ever before. “You know, I think a lot of times throughout this process you have a lot of people in your ear telling you…basically telling you stuff.” In reference to outside influences and the industry favoring pop, she went on to say, “I just want to be able to connect with you truthfully. I want you guys to really understand and I feel like if I try to do something that’s not me, then there’s just no truth in whatever I’m speaking. Thank you for allowing me to keep my artistic integrity.”

Crowd favorites included “Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues” and “Guilty Conscience” a song that’s remixed with Tame Impala gained increasing popularity (and streams) over the past few years. Unexpectedly ending with a cover of Ye’s Ghost Town , 070 Shake once again thanked her fans for their unwavering support.
