The hottest alt-pop band in the game is gearing up to make 2025 their biggest year yet. THE DRIVER ERA, consisting of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch, has announced their fourth studio album, Obsession, will be released on April 11

The aptly titled album ushers in a new era for THE DRIVER ERA, positioning them to become the music world’s next big obsession in 2025. Along with the album announcement, the band has released its addictive, 1980s-influenced new single, “Same Old Story,” as a follow-up to previously released singles: the fiery “Touch,” the romantic “Don’t Walk Away” and the catchy “You Keep Me Up At Night.” They’ve also released physical preorders for Obsession, including multiple vinyl variants, signed CDs and vinyl, and fan packs that bundle new merch and signed copies of the album. As a band known for their larger-than-life live performances, the announcement of Obsession comes on the heels of the conclusion of the first leg of THE DRIVER ERA’s Obsession Tour, building the hype for more dates scheduled to begin in March across North America.

The album’s creation started last year when Ross and Rocky began compiling a collection of songs as voice memos on their phones, tucked away in a folder simply titled “Obsession.”

“It was the truth of the situation – we were literally obsessed making these songs and just spent hours and hours with lots of love poured into them,” shares the band.Obsession is our entanglement with searching for love and trying to not fall too deep into these bad habits.”

Obsession will see THE DRIVER ERA’s newest evolution toward more confessional songwriting, putting a moodier spin on their trademark groovy-pop sound. Throughout its tracklist, Obsession delves into themes of love, longing and loss, all wrapped in a captivating sonic blend of electric riffs, rich synths and powerful drums — making it THE DRIVER ERA’s most impressive release to date.
