After days of nonstop teasers and a website countdown, singer and musical icon Lady Gaga has officially announced her 7th studio album, Mayhem.
The album, due out on March 7 through Streamline and Interscope Records, was described as a heartfelt homage to her “passion for music, blending a diverse tapestry of genres, styles and aspirations,” according to Rolling Stone. The announcement comes five months after the 38-year-old musician unveiled the companion album to sequel of the 2019 film Joker, titled Harlequin.
Mayhem will feature 14 tracks, including “Disease” and “Die With A Smile.” Store-exclusive CD and vinyl editions of the album will include an additional track. Gaga is set to debut her third single during a commercial break at the 2025 Grammy Awards, which will air on Sunday, Feb 2, 2025. “The album started as me facing my fear of returning to the pop music my earliest fans loved,” Gaga said in a statement.
In December 2024, Gaga teased her then-untitled seventh album during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, revealing that it would feature “so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams.”
Gaga will also headline this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival alongside Green Day and Post Malone. Additionally, she will join artists like Billie Eilish, Joni Mitchell and Gracie Abrams at an upcoming FireAid relief concert to support those impacted by the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.
