Last year was a big year for Robin Lundbäck, who is more commonly known as Boy In Space. He kicked off a new era with the release of singles like “Atom Bomb,” “Finally Fine Without You,” and “The Last Time,” which flaunted a more seasoned pop sound for the Swedish artist. They all led up to the release of Copium in May, a five-track EP that centered on themes like relationships, closure, and clarity. Towards the end of 2024, Boy In Space wasted no time and moved on from Copium with the release of “Dancing On Dynamite” and “Too Much To Lose.” Both tracks are from his upcoming EP, The Butterfly Affect, to be released later this year. While listeners eagerly wait for more details about the project, they will be able to enjoy “Take It Easy,” which is yet another great single from the EP.
On “Take It Easy,” Boy In Space’s Swedish pop sound is infused with a bit of southern charm. As it was written and produced in Tennessee, it was only natural for the song to take on hints of Nashville, as heard in the guitar strums and anthemic choruses. Throughout the song, Boy In Space touches on a tumultuous relationship, knowing that it wouldn’t do any good to stay in such a toxic situation. Still, he sings, “Take it easy / Break me or keep me / I’ll be any shape that you need me,” unable to stay away.
Telling us more about “Take It Easy,” Boy In Space explains,
“Being in a position where you have feelings for someone who’s unsure or has a past of kicking people to the curb has been something I’ve experienced, and when I was in Nashville, I really wanted to write about it. The want to be with someone you’re pretty sure will end up hurting you is a strange one, it’s like the highlights you experience are worth whatever hurt is bound to strike.”
You can listen to “Take It Easy” on platforms like Apple Music, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
