MC4D blends country and EDM in new single “Travel On”

Date:

Twin brother duo MC4D has released their newest single, adding to their folktronica releases for the year. Their new single “Travel On” is truly refreshing amongst the genre with a unique blend of sounds. This new take on blending country and EDM goes to show the level of artistry the duo has. All of this said, the single is a taste of what we can expect as they are set to announce a new tour early next year.

The strengths of the song are its melody and instrumental composition. The blend of classic country melodies with the acoustic guitar, country twang to the vocals, and the more rugged guitar after the chorus that blends into EDM seamlessly are not only impressive, but also engaging for the listener. The build into the EDM melody is adrenaline to your ears and the fast percussion keeps the audience at the edge of their seat, waiting for that beat drop. It’s a new sound and concept that will gain traction among listeners as it navigates uncharted soundscapes.

The track follows the metaphorical storytelling lyricism that’s popular in country music. Country music is known for its well-thought-out lyrics and for being a guided tour through a beginning, middle, and end of story. This song does exactly that; it keeps the authentic parts of country music and blends the rest. The song goes “Travel on / Travel on / Til the mountains and the plains / sing the echoes of your name.” There is this underlying theme of longing and wanting to persevere with a person no matter what.
