The Old National Centre felt like a pride festival in December when Girl In Red brought her I Have To See You Again tour to Indianapolis with fans surrounding the barricade with pride flags.
The night kicked off as Sunday (1994) started the show, almost transporting us back to the 90’s with their dreamy, melancholic tunes and the perfect amount of guitar and drums. Playing “Blonde” and “Tired Boy,” the Los Angeles-based band poured their heart into every note, weaving nostalgia with fresh energy. Paige Turner, the charismatic frontwoman, commanded the stage with effortless charm setting the perfect tone for the main act, girl in red.
It wasn’t long after Sunday (1994) left the stage the lights would go down and room radiated with excitement as the Norwegian Gen-Z pop rocker, girl in red, delivered a high-energy performance. As Marie Ulven Ringheim made her way to the stage, she opened the show with “DOING IT AGAIN BABY.”
Dressed in a suit and tie and channeling Jack Black’s rock spirit, she and her band tore through a 18-song set, seamlessly blending fresh tracks like the raucous title track with fan-favorites like “Serotonin” and “we fell in love in October.”
