Renowned K-pop girl group TWICE have officially released their highly anticipated mini album, Strategy, on Dec. 6 through JYP Entertainment/Imperial/Republic Records.
The nine-member Korean group announced the record back in October, marking a career-end comeback. Strategy features seven unreleased tracks, which includes the title track, an excitingly intimate collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion. The 14th mini album explores love like never before, as they face the thrill of initial attraction and the whirlwind experience that is romance.
TWICE’s latest track marks their second collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, following last October’s Mamushi (Remix) (feat. TWICE), which appeared on MEGAN ACT II. Produced and co-written by earattack — who previously worked on TWICE’s MOONLIGHT SUNRISE and ONE SPARK — the song delivers high-energy brilliance. Additional writing credits include singer-songwriter Boy Matthews, renowned for TWICE’s first English-language hit The Feels and collaborations with Dua Lipa and Duke Dumont, and Cleo Tighe.
Accompanied by a visually stunning music video, Strategy captures the rush of falling in love. Its lo-fi aesthetic, reminiscent of early 2000s camcorder footage, adds a nostalgic charm to the exhilarating narrative.
This release comes after TWICE dropped their 13th mini album, With YOU-th, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. This became TWICE’s first No. 1 album since their debut nine years ago. The mini album topped Billboard’s Top Album Sales and World Albums charts, marking the group’s fourth and sixth No. 1s on these charts, respectively.
