Babet is healing her inner child with “Greenblueviolet”

Date:

30-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter Babet is well known for her performances on The Voice of Holland and writing songs for artist like Demi Lovato, The Chainsmokers, and Pitbull, but she’s now gracing us with her newest single “Greenblueviolet.” The synth-pop single is heartfelt and truly solidifies her growth and development within her own sound. This single showcases attentive storytelling and catchy musical composition as well as highlighting her vocal ability and range.

Musically, the single has a smooth guitar melody layered in that is consistent from start to finish. The lower-range percussion against her high coos in between the verses also blends beautifully into the rest of the composition. The layered harmonies of different pitches and notes also adds depth to the song, creating a more ethereal sound. One sound that does stick out within the song, however, is the synth in what sounds to be similar to a xylophone in the later half of the song.

Lyrically, the song is vulnerable as she sings in the purest love to a younger version of herself. The themes of this song are bound to resonate with an audience who shares the sentiment and can appreciate being able to dedicate a song like this to themselves. This single serves as a snippet of what’s to come on her new EP Bury Me, set to release at the end of this year.
