Rise Against Rallied the Crowd at Marathon Music Works

Rise Against took over the iconic Marathon Music Works with L.S. Dunes and Cloud Nothings on election night. As everyone in attendance waiting on the results of a pivotal night for the country, the punk rock icons provided the perfect distraction, even though the room was heavy.

Cloud Nothings took the stage first with their gritty sound that pulls you in with their raw energy. The trio’s live sound is intense and unrelenting, with Dylan Baldi’s distinct, raspy vocals echoing throughout the venue. Cloud Nothing’s took the crowd on a thrilling journey through relentless punk and post-hardcore anthems that set the energy for the night. The chemistry on stage was inspiring that carried on to the crowd, transforming the venue into a chaotic sea of headbanging and moshing. Cloud Nothings delivered an unforgettable live performance that left fans craving more.

L.S. Dunes took the stage next with an electrifying showcase of alternative rock that the super band has become known for. Fronted by Anthony Green’s powerful and dynamic vocals, the band led into every song with an energy that swept the crowd into a frenzy as they performed what can be described as controlled chaos on stage. At one point Green, launched the mic stand into the air and spun around and shot the microphone out catching everyone off guard. L.S. Dunes is all about pushing boundaries, and their live performance created an atmosphere that’s both unpredictable and unforgettable, which set the energy levels for at an all-time high for the main event.

Rise Against hit the stage to close out the night with an intoxicating experience packed with raw energy and passion with only the second headlining show in Nashville for the band. Tim Mcllrath proclaimed to the crowd that they were there to forget what was happening in the world outside, to be in the moment and not to look at their phones. The punk legends provided a much-needed distraction that all in attendance were more than appreciate of. From the first chord to the final encore, the band delivered a powerful, high-intensity performance that has the crowd moshing, singing, and crowd surfing during every song. Tim McIlrath’s gritty vocals perfectly bellowed through the venue bringing songs like “Savior” and “Prayer of the Refugee” to life with even more urgency and emotion than ever before. The crowd were all united by a shared love for the band’s message-driven music. With their authentic stage presence and passionate call for social awareness, Rise Against made the night feel like more than just a show, it was a rallying cry.

Rise Against’s North American tour is powerful and a must see for any fan of the genre. The bands intensity is just as prevalent today as it has ever been, and the line up of artists touring with the quartet are phenomenal as well.
