Date:

Trudy and the Romance is known for their unique 21st-century doo-wop rock and roll. Their latest album, Blue Thunder, dives into the romantic rock scene and explores authenticity and openness. Their new song “Break a Rock” focuses on vulnerability.

“Break a Rock” is about how love transforms you as a person. Through layered guitar and strong vocals, Trudy and the Romance acknowledges how their hearts have opened up since being shown love. Lyrics such as “When I left my hometown / Well I was walking alone and no / I didn’t know you could break a rock” show how this love has changed them to become more vulnerable.

Sharing more about “Break a Rock”, Trudy and the Romance comments:

“I believed that as long as there was adventure, it was worthwhile. Heart on sleeve, illusion of strength; I was asking to be kicked around. It was only when the cracks began to show, could the happiness begin to creep in. I didn’t know you could break a rock.”
