Gizmo Varillas releases title track of newest EP, “Under the Weight”

Date:

Alt-pop artist Gizmo Varillas released the title track of his newest album, “Under The Weight,” on Oct. 11 along with the collection’s six other songs.

Opening a new chapter in his music career, Varillas writes with much influence from his personal life over the recent years. Varillas is proving to his audience that he is more than just a viral number one trend on Instagram or a top 30 playlist chart – he is an artist that is providing meaning and connection for audiences all over the world. Varillas released “Under the Weight” following a summer of performing for thousands across Portugal, Germany, Poland, Greece, Bulgaria and Romania.

“Under the Weight” was written with long-time collaborator Bobby Bazini. The single opens with an intense yet elegant string crescendo paired with Varillas’ funky rhythm guitar. The track is groovy with driving drums and has an almost cinematic feel, making a piece that is undoubtedly the work of Gizmo Varillas.

To sum it up, CLASH said it best:

“Working from his bedroom, the songwriter has pieced together a series of sunshine hymns, bizarrely contagious and wholly unique nuggets of summertime joy.”

Fans of Varillas can expect a new album in early 2025.
