‘Wicked: The Soundtrack’ release date announced: Preorder now

Put on your witches hat and cast a spell! Wicked: The Soundtrack is officially dropping on Nov. 22, the same day as the highly anticipated film adaptation’s release. Directed by Jon M. Chu and written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox, the film is the first part of a two-part adaptation of the beloved stage musical by Stephen Schwartz. With Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba Thropp and Ariana Grande as Galinda Upland, the movie promises to be the holiday season’s biggest event.

The soundtrack will include fan favorites like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” “Dancing Through Life” and “The Wizard And I,” all with new renditions that bring fresh life to these iconic tracks.

Wicked Part Two is slated for release on Nov. 21, 2025, ensuring the full scope of the story is told without cutting songs or major plotlines, expanding on the relationships and journeys of the characters.
