Andreas Moe’s “Nothing To Prove” captures the essence of transcendent love

Date:

The Swedish platinum-certified songwriter Andreas Moe has released his newest single in his discography “Nothing To Prove.” This song in collaboration with his newest EP has launched Moe into the world of pop. The track is catchy, lighthearted and an easy listen. Introducing his talent within his lyricism to a newer genre, this song is bound to catch the attention of the more commercial listener.

Lyrically leaning to a more traditional pop composition, the chorus is repeated throughout a majority of the song, making it easy to sing along to and learn the lyrics. The lyrics open with introducing contrasting aspects of someone who came in and turned your life upside down, but in the best way possible. In the opening lines, the lyrics read, “You took my world / and turned it sideways / painted my gray skies violet blue / now Monday Tuesday feel like Fridays / don’t wanna go another day without you.” The track brings this overall sense of peace in accepting this new love that has elevated your life in every way possible.

The song opens with a guitar melody followed by the percussion melody with the drums. The ad libs in between lyrics also add to the flowy melody. His tonal quality is very clear and bright through a majority of the track, except towards the end when he goes into a lower register and the tempo of the song slows down slightly to sing “And I’m scared as hell when we’re together it’s too good to be true.” The instrumentals at this point cut out with just a slight synth helping to carry the vocals.

Overall, the jump into a more pop-driven track really compliments his voice. This song suits more than one type of audience because it’s more commercial friendly, but Andreas Moe still allows his individuality as an artist to slip through.
