South Korean-New Zealand singer ROSÉ is stepping into the spotlight with the announcement of her debut solo album, rosie, set to release on Dec. 6 through The Black Label/Atlantic Records. A member of the globally successful girl group BLACKPINK since August 2016, ROSÉ co-wrote and co-produced the entire forthcoming release, marking her first full-length solo release since leaving YG Entertainment in 2023.
Following the success of her solo single album R (2021), which included the chart-topping hit “On The Ground,” ROSÉ’s debut album features 12 tracks that she describes as a “burst of honesty.” “On The Ground” became the highest-charting song by a solo K-pop female artist on the Billboard Hot 100 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
Regarding the album title, ROSÉ explained that she chose rosie, a name her friends and family use, to bring listeners closer to her on a personal level.
Announcing the album on social media, she shared:
“I have poured my blood and tears into this album. I cannot wait for you to listen to this little journal of mine. Rosie – is the name I allow my friends and family to call me. With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me. And yes, it’s a full length album.”
