Melodic Music Monday: September 30

Date:

Every Monday, we bring you a playlist filled with new tracks the Melodic staff has been listening to on repeat. Hear some of our latest obsessions below:

Estella Dawn, “Julian” In her latest song “Julian,” released on Sept. 27, Estella Dawn navigates the uncertainties of love and being afraid to open up in a relationship. With powerful vocals and a modern indie sound, Estella Dawn explores the complexities of human connection over a haunting melody.

senses, “every little thing” Pop-rock duo senses releases their newest single, “every little thing.” The single is an anthem for those who have ever experienced a toxic relationship in which their partner can’t take responsibility for their own actions. The track explores the realization that you cannot fix someone who doesn’t want to be fixed and speaks on the mentality of “if I go down, you are going down with me.”

– Reagan Denning

——

Adrian Lyles, “Formalize Me” – A little chaotic, a little crazy and little confused — 19-year-old singer-songwriter Adrian Lyles made a bold entrance into the music scene with his debut single, “Formalize Me,” released on Sept. 20, 2024. In less than 7 days, the track has garnered more than 16,000 plays on Spotify and landed on several prominent playlists across both Apple Music and Spotify.

– Clare Gehlich

——

Stella., “Friendly Reminder” – The foundation of Stella.‘s new single, “Friendly Reminder,” is a breathy pop race to let that one ex know how you really feel about them. With the upbeat drum rhythm, sweet synths, and a remarkably similar voice to John Mayer, the single is the type of instant indie hit you’d hear every day on the way to work on the radio: “I just want to say / If I had water to waste / I wouldn’t put you out if you were on fire / So lets get it straight / case you ever forget how we left it / Here’s a friendly reminder / I hate you babe.”
