Whether she is giving them an uplifting country hit like “Set in Stone” or a tortured breakup ballad like “Bad Boy,” Alexa knows how to express herself while holding the attention of those who share in her delight or pain. Her songs have amassed over 900,000 streams on Spotify alone, along with 40,000 monthly listeners. Most recently, she was a semi-finalist in the Sirius XM Top of the Country competition, a finalist in the Boots and Hearts Emerging Artist Showcase, and a nominee for Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 2024 CMAO Awards. With so much going on, there are definitely moments when Alexa wishes she could sneak away and “Cheat Time,” and we hear about that desire in her new single.

On “Cheat Time,” Alexa opens up about those intimate moments spent with someone you love. Throughout the fun-loving track, she cherishes being with this special person in her life, so much so that she wishes that they could suspend time altogether. Alexa sings, “Just for the night / Wish you and I / Could cheat time / Make it go a little slower / Keep that sun from getting lower / I’m just not ready to call it a night.” It’s such a pure and simple request, to make time stop and live in the beauty of a moment. Even though it’s impossible, it can still be worthwhile to try.

Telling us more about “Cheat Time,” Alexa explains,

“‘Cheat Time’ is a feel-good, upbeat song about being in love and wanting to stop time. Relationships have their ups and downs, and sometimes when it feels so right, you want to cheat time and stay in that moment forever.”

You can listen to “Cheat Time” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
