Conrad’s new single “roundnround” takes part in the synthpop renaissance

Date:

Conrad releases a new song featuring Perrin Xthona expressing a new infatuation in “roundnround.” This danceable synth-pop track was released under Lost in Dream Records. This is his fifth single this year and eighth overall, showing us the duality of his music and determination to solidify his sound. This song has an indie-pop vibe reminiscent of the popular surge of dance beats in the 2015-2016 era.

The song takes a a simpler approach in its beats with the heavy influence of synthesizers. The synth creates a rhythmic beat but not one that overly distracts. The melody is cohesive in its structure that comes in and out, almost as if cutting the beat every other second which seems dynamic to the track. There’s a slight build – not one that gets too loud but one that builds more synth towards the chorus.

The lyrics seem to speak to an inner monologue of an infatuation. The lyrics have this back-and-forth feeling as if actively trying to navigate the feelings of whether it’s a crush, just friends, or more. The lyrics read “We go round and round again / is it love or is it friends / We can’t stop / We can’t begin / We go round and round again”.

Conrad has given the synth pop genre a new addition and it’s a perfect blend of what is known and loved with more current vocals and lyrics that are relatable and subsequently timeless.
