Pop icon Lady Gaga has officially announced Harlequin, the companion soundtrack album to the forthcoming film, Joker: Folie et Deux, set the drop this Friday, Sept. 27, a week before the film is set to release. She shared the news on Instagram, calling it “a companion album to Joker: Folie à Deux.”
The 13-track album is a surprise addition to Gaga’s upcoming seventh studio album, which she had previously hinted at. Harlequin serves as a companion to the much-anticipated Joker sequel, where Gaga plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. Phoenix is reprising his role as the title character after leading the 2019 film, Joker.
Joker: Folie et Deux has received polarizing views from critics, praising its production design, costumes and musical sequences, while expressing concerns over the script and character development.
The tracklist preview shared by Spotify includes songs such as “Good Morning,” “Get Happy (2024),” “Oh, When the Saints,” “World on a String,” “That’s Entertainment,” “Smile,” “The Joker” and the title track “Folie à Deux.”
