Honeysucker is known for their genuine songwriting. Inspired by their life experiences, Honeysucker’s music focuses on the life of young adults in Brooklyn, New York. Their latest release “Lost” focuses on a messy breakup.
“Lost” is about finding joy within yourself instead of through a partner. Through high-energy percussion and honest lyrics, Honeysucker expresses their relief to be single again. While Honeysucker feels strongly about this breakup, they also realize their separation was for the best.
Sharing more about “Lost”, Honeysucker comments:
“I fell in love once. It started off sweet but by the end I would’ve preferred falling down an elevator shaft instead… To be clear, it was nothing she did, we were just different people. She came from LA, I hated the sun. She wanted a cat, I was allergic. She was halfway through grad school, I was six months into a year-long bender. So we met in the middle, which turned out to be nowhere… Anyway, months later when the smoke cleared, she had moved on. Pretty quickly I might add. I, on the other hand, had not… Let me tell you, heartbreak hurts even more when it’s unoriginal. Fast forward to now she’s got a fiancé, two cats, a high paying job and a new build condo the Village. But I got this song, so who really came out on top?”
