SABAI teams up with Linney on house, dance pop track “Are You Happy Now”

Date:

On Sept. 13, SABAI released his latest single “Are You Happy Now” featuring Linney. With house and dance-pop elements, SABAI creates an upbeat song about wondering how someone from your past is doing.

The song begins with a verse comparing a relationship to a storyline that has met its end. Hurt emanates from Linney’s soft voice when she sings, “The chapter is over, just like what we had.” It’s clear she misses someone when she says “But your ghost sleeps on the right side of my bed” as the bass starts to build up.

Right when Linney asks “So are you happy now?” for the first time, the beat drops and layers of music are added to the bass. The hook has an energetic melody for listeners to bop to while also emphasizing the frustration of not knowing how someone from your past is doing.

SABAI is currently on tour for his album North Star that released in July. If he decides to play his latest track live, fans will definitely be hyped by the build-up and appreciate Linney’s vocals in the song. The meaning of SABAI is “comfortable” which is what he strives to be for his listeners. The artist showcases Future Bass and House in his discography while also taking inspiration from pop, rock, and R&B. If you’re looking for an artist whose music is accepting and inspiring, then look no further than SABAI.
