Rob Zombie’s Freaks on Parade March into Alpharetta, Georgia

Date:

Rob Zombie’s Freaks on Parade tour marched into Ameris Bank Amphitheater, delivering an explosive celebration of industrial rock, metal, and theatrical shock rock. The stacked lineup featured the heavyweights Filter, original industrial masterminds Ministry, and the god father of shock rock himself, Alice Cooper.

Filter kicked off the night with their gritty sound, delivered the hits with fan favorites like “Hey Man, Nice Shot” and “Take a Picture.” Filter wasted no time grabbing the audience’s attention with their energetic stage presence and smoked filled performance. The raw vocals of Richard Patrick echoed throughout the venue, as the band’s performance complemented his lead with an aggressive and intense start to an amazing evening. Filter’s set was a great blend of industrial and alternative, with plenty of passion that set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Ministry followed up, and Al Jourgensen’s energy is unmatched. The industrial legends opened with a trio of new songs from their latest album, which included “B.D.E” and “Just Stop Oil”, which was followed up with an industrial metal assault, powered by tracks like “N.W.O.” and “Just One Fix,” flooding the audience with punishing rhythms and socio-political fury. Al Jourgensen and crew filled the air with pounding beats and politically charged lyrics, making their set a visceral experience. Jourgensen is as unapologetic and raw as ever, and Ministry’s performance felt like a dystopian march through the darker corners of modern society.

Next up was the godfather of shock rock, Alice Cooper, bringing with him decades of iconic showmanship which has only gotten better with time. Cooper’s set is a full-on theatrical production, complete with elaborate outfits, props, and his signature macabre storytelling, which even brought his pet boa onstage as expected. Classics like “School’s Out,” “Poison,” and “No More Mr. Nice Guy” electrify the crowd, but it’s the elaborate stage production that steals the show. Cooper’s band is tight, posing for the crowd, shredding on their respective instruments, and his vocals were remarkably strong for a legend with such longevity in the industry. Every song feels like an event, and the audience was fully immersed in the world Cooper creates—a bizarre, thrilling spectacle that never loses its charm. Alice Cooper proves he is still the undisputed king of shock rock!

Rob Zombie, the master of horror-infused rock, closes the night with a visual and innate spectacle. Starting the set atop a massive platform performing “Demon Speeding”, the band proved the packed house was in for a spectacle right out the gate. Zombie’s set is an over-the-top mix of horror imagery, pyrotechnics, animatronics, and groove-laden metal. His setlist was packed with hits, with bangers like “Dragula” and “Superbeast,” and everything in between. Song after song, the energy only escalates leading to a masterpiece of a stage show. The stage is covered with massive screens showing B-movie clips, giant robots, and eerie lighting that plunges the audience into Zombie’s eccentric horror world. Zombie’s energy is infectious, running around the stage, interacting with the crowd, and delivering a performance that feels equal parts concert and horror movie. Zombie knows how to entertain, and his showmanship elevates the night to an unforgettable crescendo.

Freaks on Parade delivers on all front with each band bringing their own brand of intensity, from Filter’s reflective grit, Ministry’s industrial brutality, Alice Cooper’s theatrical shock rock, to Rob Zombie’s horror-metal spectacle. The concert feels like a celebration of freaks and misfits, a carnival of chaos that fans of industrial and shock rock simply can’t miss. The tour is a reminder of why all acts involved have not only endured but continue to define the genre.
