On Friday, singer-songwriter JVKE and global pop star Nick Jonas came together to write romantic song “this is what forever feels like” for fans to enjoy as summer winds down. As the title suggests, the two artists sing a beautiful story of wanting to find someone to love for the rest of their lives.
JVKE, who is no stranger to writing love ballads, opens the song with an emotional verse on how he will endure heartbreak if it means being able to find the one. After saying he doesn’t want to be heartbroken again, he raps “But then again I hope it does / Because I wanna fall in love / Without the part where we give up” over light guitar plucks. In the chorus, he sings “I wanna know if you wanna be growing old with me / Until we’re seventy” as the bass goes up to complement his powerful voice.
Nick Jonas joins in on the second verse with a smooth voice and lyrics that will have fans obsessed. He paints a sweet romance with cute moments that can only happen with a long-term partner. The multi-platinum artist sings that he yearns for the kind of love “That’s steady / Them kitchen hugs / Sentimental stuff.” JVKE and Nick Jonas then come together on the second chorus for a beautiful duet as they sing “Just passing the time / With you by my side.”
On their collaboration, Nick Jonas shares
“I’ve been a fan of JVKE’s since I first heard ‘Golden Hour’. He and I had a great time working together. This song captures the joy of being with your partner and spending your lives together.”
He is currently on a world tour with the Jonas Brothers. Next year, Nick Jonas is set to return to Broadway to star in Last Five Years opposite Adrienne Warren.
JVKE has grown since his “Golden Hour” days. With no shortage of lovely, romantic pop songs, the Rhode Island-born singer has also released another anthem about finding the one over the summer called “her,” which has earned over two million streams on Spotify so far.
