Charli XCX has announced a remix edition of her critically acclaimed album BRAT, originally released on June 7 through Atlantic Records. The remix record, titled Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, is set for release on Friday, Oct. 11. This remix version serves as a double album, featuring reimagined versions of the original tracks along with remixes. A deluxe edition of the album, including three additional tracks, was released on June 10.
BRAT draws heavy influence from the 2000s English rave music scene and offers a more aggressive club sound compared to Charli XCX’s previous album, Crash (2022). The album was met with widespread critical acclaim, debuting at No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and breaking into the top ten in 12 other countries, including the U.S., where it debuted at No. 3, marking her highest chart debut.
Alongside the remix album announcement, Charli XCX released the new single “Talk talk” featuring Australian pop singer Troye Sivan. This release coincides with Charli XCX and Sivan’s SWEAT concert tour. Prior to this, she dropped the track “Guess”, a collaboration with GRAMMY Award winner Billie Eilish, which marked their first collaboration together. This remix became the fourth remix from BRAT and marked Eilish’s first studio collaboration in several years. The song debuted at the top of the UK Singles Chart and reached No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The album’s cover art and aesthetic gained widespread popularity online and became a viral trend. Notably, U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris incorporated the album’s design elements into her 2024 presidential campaign, following Charli XCX’s public endorsement.
Fans can purchase the album as a double cassette and double CD.
