Avery Lynch releases “somebody new” and the rest of ‘As Written, Vol. 2’ EP

Date:

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Avery Lynch dropped her latest EP, As Written, Vol. 2, on Sept. 6, including focus track “somebody new.” Since making her debut as an artist in 2020, Lynch has received over 100 million streams, a deal with RECORDS, and a tight-knit audience. Playing piano since the age of seven, Lynch developed her own style as an artist, often featuring raw piano chords and soft, romantic vocals in her music. While writing her music, Lynch takes inspiration from her own life, those around her, and the media she views.

As Written, Vol. 2 features nine songs, some of which are pre-released tracks re-recorded in their purest form, and others are entirely new. About the As Written, Vol. 2 project, Lynch said:

“My ‘As Written’ projects are where I get to re-record some of my favorite songs from past works exactly as they were written. This project also allows me to release my songs in the format that people originally fell in love with. The first ‘As Written’ is a fan favorite and I feel like this second volume shows so much growth from the first, so I’m so excited for everyone to hear it. It’s been the hardest secret to keep over the last year and I’m so proud of it!”

According to Lynch, “somebody new,” explores the idea of loving someone so much that you do not want to be with anyone else – and, if they wanted someone knew, you want that for them, even if it does not change your feelings.

Reflecting on “somebody new,” Lynch said:

“It felt like a movie to write, and now it sounds like a movie when you listen. My piano playing for years has taken a back seat in my songwriting and I’m so excited to reintroduce it in this song and in more to come.”
