Camila Cabello announces deluxe version of ‘C,XOXO’ and teases “Godspeed” single

Date:

5th Harmony alum Camila Cabello has a knack for delivering your typical pop hits, year after year, and her latest record, C,XOXO, released on June 28, 2024, is no exception to this rule. Now, Cabello is set to release the deluxe edition of her fourth studio album on Sept. 6 through Island and Geffen Records.

The album is praised for its innovation, execution and boldness, marking a significant departure from Cabello’s previous pop sound. The deluxe version, titled The Magic City Edition of C, XOXO, will include a new single, “Godspeed.”

Announcing the deluxe edition on Instagram, Cabello wrote, “Always more stories to tell. Some new songs for your night in Magic City.”

The announcement follows the release of Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, on Aug. 23, which features songs that hint at a potential love triangle involving herself, Cabello and Shawn Mendes. Tracks like “Coincidence,” “Sharpest Tool” and “Taste” seem to narrate a storyline about a love interest rekindling a romance with his ex-girlfriend. The music video for “Taste” features Emmy-nominated actress Jenna Ortega, who fans speculate bears a resemblance to Cabello.

C,XOXO debuted at No. 13 on the US Billboard 200, earning 36,500 album-equivalent units.
