Soul Asylum was first up on the roster delivering an experience that perfectly blended raw emotion with a high-energy. From the moment they take the stage, the band captivated the audience with their infectious stage presence and timeless sound. Lead singer Dave Pirner’s distinctive voice resonates through the venue, evoking a sense of nostalgia with every note of hits like “Runaway Train” and “Somebody to Shove.” The band told jokes, jumped around, laughed, and created a delightful show for everyone in attendance. With driving guitar riffs, pounding drums, and a charismatic performance, Stone Temple Pilots are still a powerhouse in today’s rock scene that seem to be here for the long haul.
Live closed the night for this stop of their co-headlining tour, and treated amphitheater to a transcendent experience that showcased the enduring power of ’90s alternative rock. From the moment they stepped on stage, the band emit an ethereal presence, with Ed Kowalczyk’s soulful vocals leading the charge. With a packed setlist with songs like “Selling the Drama” and “I Alone” echoed throughout the venue, the crowd sang along to every word, creating a communal atmosphere that seemed to cleanse the soul. The Pennsylvania based quartet brought a passionate delivery that brought new life to their classic hits. With each song, the crowd’s energy rose until it crescendo with the finale of their fan favorite hit “Lightning Crashes.” The name Live is a perfect a name, as it resonates with the fact that their music is as relevant and impactful today as it was decades ago.
