UPSAHL throws it back to the early 2000s with “Tears on the dancefloor”

Date:

Ahead of her Melt me down tour and following her latest release “Summer so hot“, UPSAHL blends sultry vocals with an infectious beat in her newest release, “Tears on the dancefloor.”

The song, drawing inspiration from the Timbaland-era of Nelly Furtado, blends modern pop with a throwback to the early 2000s. UPSAHL’s husky vocal tones seamlessly transition to elastic, higher registers, creating a dynamic listening experience.

Lyrically, “Tears on the dancefloor” captures the moment of liberation from heartbreakโ€”a celebration of finally feeling free and rediscovering oneself. Singing, “I’m leaving all my tears on the dancefloor / What was I sad for? / Make me forget why I even wasted,” These lines encapsulate the core theme of the song: moving past the pain and embracing the present moment. The repetition of “What was I sad for?” serves as both a rhetorical question and a mantra, underlining the songโ€™s message of letting go and moving forward, all while giving the perfect the dancefloor track.

The music video complements the song’s vibe perfectly, paying homage to the iconic opening scene of the 1998 film “Blade.” Set in a pulsating, body-to-body dancefloor, the video is as visually arresting as the track is sonically. The all-consuming sound of the track, with its throbbing bass and electrifying rhythm, mirrors the energy and intensity of the dancefloorโ€”a place where emotions are laid bare and left behind.

“Tears on the dancefloor” is an anthem for anyone who has found themselves crying on the dancefloor, only to emerge stronger on the other side.
