Gus Thompson drops second release of 2024 and teases new songs to come

Date:

Philadelphia-based artist Gus Thompson released his newest single, “Wasting Time,” on Aug. 14. Gigging since he was 13 years old, Thompson has developed a taste for all genres and does not allow a single one to define his work. “Wasting Time” is Thompson’s second single of 2024, following the June 1st release “Mermaid.”

“Wasting Time” is an exciting release for fans of Thompson’s music. Before the track’s official release, Thompson posted a teaser on Instagram, previewing what is to come for his audience. The caption read:

“My newest single ‘Wasting Time’ is out on August 14th! Make sure to check the link in my bio and follow me for updates and sneak peeks. (I’ll be posting some sneak peeks of other songs later this week so keep your eyes out!!!)”

In “Wasting Time,” Thompson experiences an influx of emotion surrounding a newly-found love. He sings “I don’t know wrong from right” and “Maybe I’m wasting time,” while hoping that his relationship will work out — and that his efforts will be worth it. Upbeat piano chords supplement Thompson’s vocals, creating a production signature of his eccentric style.
