Birksie finds a rebirth in his music with “Bloom”

Date:

Aussie singer songwriter Birksie has embarked on a new journey with his music. Like many other musicians, he has found himself plunging into a rebirth with his music. As his new single “Bloom” suggests, he’s bloomed into a new era of creativity and sound within his artistry. This new sound parallels with many talented artists in the indie pop/indie rock space like Wallows. This new single is part of his recently released album Bloom, which he describes as a introspective piece within his music career.

The song opens immediately with a rhythmic mid-tempo melody within the drums. The contrast of the pop sounds of the guitar and subtle percussion complement the track as a whole. There is this dynamic root in the song that makes you want to sway to the beat but there’s a warmth around the sound that consumes you, as well. There’s also a fluidity among the lyrics that fully allows the listener to enjoy the melody but still understand each word of the song.

The song has very smooth and catchy lyrics that are easy to sing along to after the first listen. Some of the lyrics read “And I get / tongue tied / I’m fine / you shine / I’ll just watch you bloom.” The theme and tone of the song seem to be of an infatuation that brings forth an emotional richness in being happy with just having your person by your side.
