Pop rock singer-songwriter Caroline Kingsbury released her newest track, “Alabama”, on July 31. The rising artist captivates audiences through her 80s pop sounds, drawing comparisons to stars such as Kate Bush and Karen O. “Alabama” marks the second single released from her upcoming EP, I Don’t Really Care, set to release this fall.
In “Alabama”, Kingsbury explores her mixed feelings attached to the state against high-energy melodies and shimmering guitar chords. Upon the track’s release, she posted on Instagram:
“Alabama (ah ah ah) is out NOW…..windows down speeding down the highway with the wind flapping in your face. you better listen to this with your windows down. Alabama is a bittersweet place for me because of the beautiful memories and the deep sorrow attached to it.”
The single is incredibly catchy, and has already reached the number 2 spot on Kingsbury’s most popular songs on Spotify. Upbeat drums drive the track, and Kingsbury’s powerful deep voice perfects her 80s sound.
Kingsbury will next perform in Los Angeles, Calif. on Oct. 17 at The Moroccan Lounge. Tickets can be purchased here.
